Symmetry and Harmony was Essential in this Kid’s Room

This children’s bedroom presented several unique design challenges, beginning with a single off-center window that had the potential to make the room feel visually unbalanced. Creating a sense of symmetry and harmony was essential, while also incorporating the client’s preferred color palette in a way that felt fresh, modern, and age-appropriate.

Project Overview:

Kayla addressed these challenges with thoughtful design solutions that enhanced both the functionality and aesthetics of the space. A strategically placed mirror on the opposite side of the room reflects natural light from the window, creating the illusion of balance while making the room feel brighter and more spacious. To add personality and visual interest, a whimsical celestial-inspired wallpaper was applied to the ceiling, transforming an often-overlooked surface into a captivating design feature. This unexpected detail draws the eye upward, creating a sense of height and wonder while reinforcing the room’s playful character.

The result is a beautifully balanced children’s retreat that feels imaginative, welcoming, and sophisticated. Thoughtful symmetry, carefully layered color, and creative design details come together to create a space that is both fun and timeless—a room designed to inspire creativity while providing comfort and functionality for years to come.
