Design Director, Principal

Meet Lisa, a distinguished designer renowned for her award-winning creations that captivate and delight both residential and commercial clients. Lisa is a Certified Interior Decorator with over a decade of experience in interior design and home renovations.  She further brings a wealth of professional experience encompassing product design, project management, merchandising, marketing, and business. With degrees in both business and liberal arts, Lisa has further honed her skills through numerous certificate programs in the field of interior design and related disciplines.

Lisa’s accolades speak volumes about her commitment to excellence. Recent honors include the 2022 Diamond Award, the 2021 Diamond Award, and the 2020 Crystal Award from Decorating Den Interiors. Her prowess is further evidenced by securing three winning rooms/spaces in the 2023 Dream Room Competition including the coveted first-place prize for the Living Room category, in addition to multiple wins in 2022 and 2021. A proud native Texan, Lisa finds joy in residing near her extended family in the Dallas area. During her free time, she can be found enjoying the company of her family and their two dogs. Lisa is not just a designer; she’s a storyteller who weaves your narrative into the very fabric of your living and working spaces.

Michele Simpson
Business Director, Senior Interior Designer

Michele is a seasoned professional with a dual role as an Interior Designer and Real Estate Agent. Her extensive background in both fields uniquely positions her to provide a comprehensive perspective to the design and real estate industries. With a track record of successfully managing her own interior design firm and owning two boutique stores specializing in home furnishings and décor, Michele has demonstrated her expertise and entrepreneurial acumen.

Currently serving as the Business Director and Senior Interior Designer, Michele is deeply passionate about her work. Her greatest satisfaction stems from the relationships she cultivates with clients, collaborating closely with them to realize their visions for their living and working spaces. Guided by the mantra, “I treat every project as if it were my own space,” Michele recognizes the deeply personal nature of entrusting a design project and considers it an honor and privilege to partner with her clients.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Michele dedicates time to her family, cherishing her role as a mother to three remarkable boys. She considers motherhood her highest calling. Presently, a significant portion of her schedule is devoted to the soccer field, where she supports her youngest son in his pursuit of a professional soccer career. In the precious moments left, Michele indulges in her interests, including culinary pursuits, literature, fitness, nature, and SPRUCING up of her own home.

Will Porter
Operations Director

William (Will) Porter is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of exemplary leadership in residential and commercial construction. As the Operations Director, Will brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to every project he undertakes.

Throughout his illustrious career, Will has consistently demonstrated a keen understanding of the intricacies of construction management. His commitment to excellence and hands-on approach has earned him a reputation for delivering projects on time and within budget. From overseeing residential developments to managing complex commercial construction ventures, Will’s expertise spans a diverse range of construction projects.

Will’s passion for construction is matched only by his dedication to fostering positive relationships with colleagues and clients alike. His collaborative leadership style and commitment to open communication make him an invaluable asset to any team. Whether he’s navigating the intricacies of project management or enjoying downtime with his family and furry friend, Will Porter embodies the perfect blend of professionalism and personal fulfillment.

Beyond the design studio and project site, Will is a devoted family man who cherishes spending quality time with his loved ones. His personal life is enriched by the warmth of family, friends and his dog. Will understands the importance of work-life balance and believes that a well-rounded life contributes to both personal and professional success.

Breann Bohne
Senior Interior Designer

As an award-winning designer, Breann uses her skills, knowledge, and talents to design unique, functional and alluring homes. She recently was awarded the Eagle Award by Decorating Den Interiors for her exceptional work.

She’s a dynamic human being with spirit and soul who uses her thoughtful nature to take care of and inspire others.  Breann went to a private design school in San Diego where she studied interior architecture and design.  She graduated with a BFA in Interior Design in 2017 and has since made her way to Dallas to continue her lifelong quest to transform one home after another.

Breann particularly enjoys using 3D architectural software, which produces photorealistic renderings that shows clients what their new spaces will look like after completion.  She also has experience with creating construction documents, creating and maintaining harmonious relationships with clients, and is well versed in project leadership.  Breann is able to take the lead in an encouraging way to conjure trust and a solid sense of being taken care of throughout the entire design and implementation process.

Breann lives with her two rescue dogs, Wayne and Dakota, near the heart of Dallas.  She loves to create her own art to hang in her home, cook odd recipes she finds on Pinterest while listening to swing jazz, and camping on the lake.

Kayla Anderson
Interior Designer

Kayla is a graduate from The Art Institute of Dallas where she received her BFA in Interior Design.  Prior to her work at SPRUCED, she worked with her father’s businesses and gained valuable skills such as excellent customer service, QuickBooks software, Texas business licensing, and filing and establishing vendor relationships.

Kayla can connect with clients to understand their wants and needs to implement them into her work.  She loves taking-on and overcoming new challenges and designs, while keeping a meticulous eye to uncover all aspects of any job to ensure the best design possible.  She is excited to showcase her talents at SPRUCED.

In her free time, Kayla can be found spending time with her Shih Tzu, Max, who loves going on long walks. She also enjoys spending time with her family, fishing, boating activities, puzzles, and watching game shows.

Jessica Janusch
Associate Designer

Jessica’s love for design comes from her childhood. At a young age, she knew that Barbie needed a pretty house; her plastic animals needed a safari, and her Polly Pockets needed a nice backyard with a pool shaded by umbrellas. It was all about the layout and space planning, her imagination couldn’t stop flowing with creative and bold idea’s.

Jessica danced on scholarship at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas. She spent two years earning her associates degree then went to The University of North Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art’s degree in Interior Design.

She is currently a Junior Designer and learning all the industry’s wonderful experiences. She loves helping others and implanting her ideas to any project available. “I always put in one controversial item. It makes people talk.” – Dorothy Draper

Mallory Larsen
Project Manager

Mallory is a graduate of Texas State University at San Marcos where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Interior Design with a minor in Business Administration.  Prior to joining Spruced, Mallory worked at several nation-wide firms developing her skills in design harmony, project management, customer consultation, supply chain management and vendor relations.

Mallory possesses a highly developed ability to see through problems and find solutions that keep projects on track and exceed the customer’s expectations.  She loves being part of high performing teams and has a track record of building winning relationships with clients and suppliers.

Mallory is a native of Sealy, Texas and in her free time enjoys her 3 rescue dogs Jasmine, Roscoe and Luke. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, kayaking the river, and listening to true crime podcasts.

Marilyn Farrell
Accounting Specialist

As part of the team at Spruced Interior Designs, Marilyn manages Accounts Payable and Receivable. For over 20 years, Marilyn has enjoyed the challenges of a variety of work environments including small business, corporate and startups. Her work experience includes companies in health care, financial services, and IT. After retiring a few years ago to help with young grandchildren, the opportunity to use her business administrative and operational experience at SPRUCED came at the right time.

Marilyn is a native of Dallas and graduate of SMU. When not working, her time is spent with her family and friends as well as various activities at her church.
