Modern Transitional Style

This client wanted to update her whole home from a farmhouse traditional style to a modern transitional vibe. In this family room, our client wanted a comfortable gathering space for her family and extended family that she often hosted. She requested more lighting, warm neutrals and touches of gold.

Project Overview:

We lightened the flooring and walls throughout the entire home for a softer and more updated starting point. Initially, the builder provided only one ceiling fan with a light kit in this space. We sourced and installed two statement chandeliers to enhance the room’s grandeur. A neutral rug defined the family room, where a comfy sectional with playful pillows offered seating. A multi-level coffee table combined style and function.

Using a floor plug, we added lamps on the arched sofa table for extra lighting. To create a focal point, one wall was painted in a warm taupe shade, complemented by natural wood beam shelving and a custom live-edge mirror flanking the floor-to-ceiling fireplace. Soft draperies, modern art, and carefully chosen accessories completed our comfortable transitional setting.
