Generous Seating in a Living Room Makeover

Designing this living room required a careful balance between visual impact and everyday functionality. The fireplace was intended to remain the central focal point, yet the client also needed generous seating to accommodate a large family. Achieving both without compromising the room’s openness and aesthetic required thoughtful planning and a strategic approach to layout.

Project Overview:

Breann Bohne emphasized the fireplace by enhancing its presence with a darker stone surround, creating a striking contrast against lighter walls and naturally drawing the eye. To address the need for additional seating, she designed a custom bench adjacent to the fireplace, complete with integrated storage beneath. This solution not only increased seating capacity but also provided a practical way to keep the space organized, all while maintaining a clean, streamlined look.

The result is a sophisticated, masculine living space defined by bold contrasts and refined simplicity. Dark tones paired with crisp white accents create depth and visual interest, while minimalist furnishings and sleek floor coverings contribute to an uncluttered, modern aesthetic. The space feels both impactful and inviting—perfectly tailored for comfort, functionality, and elevated everyday living.
