Designing Around the Piano

The client wanted this space to be their piano room and for it to have seating for a small gathering when enjoying music. This required us to figure out a functional layout. The area by windows were tight and very specific so we had to find a solution that could fit in that space and be functional. The space lacked privacy because the windows were street facing.

Project Overview:

Kayla designed a layout around the large piano the client’s had already purchased. The new layout is intimate but still spacious and functional. It is the perfect layout for enjoying music and having intimate conversation. The furniture has different heights to give depth, variation, and interest and custom benches in the window provide extra seating. Soft white roman shades were added to help with privacy and sound. The art mimics the movements of music fit for a piano room. Accents of brushed nickel, black, and ambient lighting created the perfect mood for this space.
