A Refined Aesthetic

This kitchen presented a series of design challenges that called for both thoughtful problem-solving and a refined aesthetic approach. The original vent hood felt bulky and visually dominant, disrupting the balance of the surrounding cabinetry, while the island and barstools lacked the durability and visual interest needed to complement the space.

Project Overview:

Lisa Porter reimagined the kitchen with a focus on lightness, cohesion, and everyday functionality. The vent hood was redesigned with a streamlined, sculptural profile, softening its presence and allowing it to integrate seamlessly with the cabinetry. A durable stone surface was introduced at the island, bringing both long-lasting performance and a subtle layer of texture and sophistication. Updated barstools, selected for their modern silhouettes and performance materials, provide comfort, resilience, and a clean, tailored look.

The result is a contemporary kitchen transformation defined by refined textures and thoughtful details. A plaster-finish vent hood, waterfall-edge stone island, and elevated seating create a space that feels bright, balanced, and effortlessly functional—perfectly suited for both daily living and stylish entertaining.
