A Colorful Home

This lakeside home demanded thoughtful design, considering the resident’s identity as an artist. A modern table, accented with purple chairs, harmonizes with a beach-inspired wallpaper reflecting her artistic passion. A multicolored rug unifies the space, while cowhide stools add charm. The chandelier evokes the lake’s waves with a contemporary flair.

Project Overview:

One challenge encountered while designing this dining room was the presence of a wall that closed it off from the kitchen, along with low ceilings and a lack of distinctive character, as it was formerly a living room. These factors made the room feel cramped and unwelcoming.

To address this, Michele recommended that her client remove a portion of the wall to create a more open and spacious atmosphere. Additionally, we opted to lighten the wall color to match the rest of the house, visually expanding the space. To infuse character into the room, she incorporated a vibrant wall mural wallpaper, showcased bold art pieces selected from the client’s collection, and curated furnishings and lighting inspired by artistic motifs.
